The cases
- Sentence case
- Like a normal sentence. Easiest to read for headings and buttons.
- Title Case
- Main words capitalized, small words not, following AP and Chicago style.
- UPPER and lower case
- All capitals or no capitals, for labels, codes and fixing caps lock.
- URL slug
- A page address from a title: “Best Running Shoes 2026” becomes best-running-shoes-2026.
When to use which
- Page titles
- Title case or sentence case both work in Google; pick one and use it across the site.
- Headings and buttons
- Sentence case reads faster and looks less shouty.
- URLs
- Short, lower-case slugs with dashes, without stop words you do not need.
