Website speed test. How fast your page opens for real visitors.
Enter a page. Google loads it on a mid-range phone and on a computer, scores both from 0 to 100 and lists what costs the most time, so you know what to fix first.
What the test measures
- Performance score
- Google's 0 to 100 score from a test run: 90 and above is good, 50 to 89 needs work, under 50 is poor.
- Main content visible (LCP)
- When the largest image or text block appears. Google's target is under 2.5 seconds.
- Layout shift (CLS)
- How much the page jumps while it loads. Under 0.1 is good.
- Blocked by scripts (TBT)
- How long scripts keep the page from responding. The lab stand-in for how quickly a tap gets an answer.
- Real visitors
- When the page has enough traffic, how it loaded for Chrome users over the last 28 days. Google ranks on these.
How to speed up a page
- Start with the phone
- Google indexes the mobile version of your site, and phones are slower. Fix what the phone test lists first.
- Shrink images
- Large images are the most common cause of a slow LCP. Serve WebP or AVIF at the size they are shown.
- Load less JavaScript
- Remove unused scripts and delay chat widgets, trackers and pop-ups until after the page appears.
- Reserve space
- Give images, ads and embeds a width and height so the page does not jump while they load.

Yes. The test runs on Google's PageSpeed Insights, the same lab test and real-visitor data, shown for phone and computer side by side.
The phone test simulates a mid-range phone on a slower connection, so every image and script costs more. Most sites score lower on mobile.
Yes, a little. Core Web Vitals are part of Google's page experience signals. A fast page rarely beats a more relevant one, but a slow page loses visitors before they read it.
Each test is one run, and server load, network and ads differ every time. A few points up or down is normal; look at the trend.
Main content visible in under 2.5 seconds, layout shift under 0.1 and responses to taps under 200 milliseconds, for at least three in four visitors.
